Elebute-Halle urges women to vote selfless leaders, participate in electoral process

Ekiti State governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Erelu Elebute-Halle, has urged women to actively participate in the 2023 general elections, and vote leaders that can take the country out of its current mess.

She said that the leader the country needs in 2023 and beyond must be one who is selfless, and who loves service to humanity above self. Elebute-Halle stated this at the weekend during the wedding ceremony of her parents, who had separated for over 40 years, and the empowerment programme for vulnerable people at Ilasa Ekiti.

At the event, she gave out N50 million cash to aged women, those living with disabilities, orphans and the vulnerable, among others, promising to continue reaching out to the less privileged.

Elebute-Halle, who was the only female gubernatorial candidate in last Ekiti 2022 governorship election, said that women must come out and actively participate in the political process to get the desired outcome, given their numerical strength.

She said: “I participated in Ekiti governorship election to inspire women, give them hope that they can do it. This is why I am asking them to come out and participate actively in the 2023 general elections. I came fourth in that election, which I contested with 18 men. That should tell you that women are not pushovers.”
