The Delta South Overseer of the church, Pastor Pious Idume, said the book was timely in view of rising iniquities in the society, which, he said, were signs of last days.

“This book is to re-awaken the church, revive the church and also revive evangelism. It is also to call us back to righteousness because the nation has shifted from righteousness to unrighteousness.

“And, again a lot of people have forgotten about God and living as if there is no God. This book will bring us back to our creator because once you miss God, you miss all. The position we are in now as a nation, we need help and this book will provide the help we need,” Idume said.

He said the book is a compilation of everything written about Kumuyi, his life and ministry.
Chairman of the occasion, Pastor Samuel Tuoyo, described the title of the book as strategic for global evangelism

He said: “The book, Kumuyi Defender of the Faith,” is coined out of the vision to reach out to the globe with Christ’s evangelisation mandate to the church. Kumuyi, being a man that is committed and given to evangelism, has done so much in impacting lives and a book, like this, cannot but be for the purpose of continuing the work of evangelisation that he had leveraged on from the past.”
Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, who was represented by the Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emma Amgbaduba, said the value of the book is immense and will guide people to God.
