Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, said his government has mobilised contractors and will, in the dry season, embark on aggressive road repairs and maintenance across the state’s 18 Local Councils.
Obaseki, who spoke to newsmen in Benin City, reassured of government’s commitment to improving physical infrastructure, ensuring improved livelihoods for the people.
The governor noted that his administration would continue to sustain investment in infrastructure development, improving internal road network in the state, emphasising proper design and supervision of contractors, adding, “this will further ensure improved business environment and open up more areas to economic activities.”
He said: “As part of our strategy this dry season, we are going to be grading most of the earth roads in every local government area in the state.
“We know some of our internal roads are bad but we are addressing it as contractors have been mobilised from this holiday period through the end of this dry season to work on the roads.
“We will make sure that most of the roads across Edo’s 18 Local Councils are motorable.”
