The Lagos deputy governorship candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Funke Akindele, has deleted politics-related posts from her Instagram page.

The actress’s Instagram page feed shows that she has deleted posts that reflect her political interest.
Existing content on her page reflects her popular movie character Jenifa, the actress, not a politician.
Akindele and PDP governorship candidate Adediran Olajide lost the election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Babjide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday.
Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes to defeat his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party who polled 312,329, and Olajide who polled 62,449 votes.

Akindele took to her Instagram page to appreciate everyone who supported her ambitions.
According to her, it was “an amazing and insightful experience” and “an absolute learning curve.
“A lot of things have been learned and unlearned. I sincerely do not regret taking this huge step of running for office.
“I, therefore, want to thank the people of Lagos state for believing in me and supporting my decision to run for office.”
