Expert urges incoming administration to prioritise PHCs

Managing Director, R-Jolad Plus, Dr. Funsho Oladipo, has advised incoming administration to change the nation’s healthcare narrative. Oladipo, who was represented by Dr. Olayemi Ogundokun, stated this while addressing journalists during a facility tour of R-Jolad Plus. He said that the imperative of Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) could not be over-emphasised.

“The late Prof. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti was an advocate of primary healthcare. It was during his era that the PHCs were put in place.

“If you build two PHCs in each local council, there will not be too much load on secondary healthcare, not to talk of tertiary healthcare. Tertiary health care has nothing to do with malaria except some complications like cerebral malaria,” he noted.

On his part, Chief Operating Officer, Soji Osunsedo, said the core values of the hospital include excellence, courage, empathy, wholeness, responsibility and agility.
