Honours two officers for diligence, traffic control
Operatives of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have concluded all necessary arrangements to collaborate with civil society activists on effective and efficient traffic management across the state.
General Manager, LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, disclosed this, yesterday, during a courtesy visit by members of civil society activists in Lagos to his office at LASTMA Headquarters.
Oreagba said that LASTMA was not established for revenue generation as being insinuated by some sections of the public but purely saddled with controlling and managing all traffic related matters in the state.
He, therefore, urged all civil society activists to support the agency in educating road users, particularly motorists, to desist from driving against traffic (One-way) as this has caused untimely death to many motoring public, including innocent passersby.
Oreagba, while urging motorists to adhere strictly to all traffic regulations, however, promised that any complaint sent via any of the LASTMA hotlines (08100565860, 08129928503, 08129928597 and 08174722227), including social media handles (twitter-ekolastma, Instagram – @followlastma & Facebook- ekolastma) would be thoroughly investigated.
Earlier in his speech, the Coordinator of civil society activists, Gbenga Soloki, requested for a mutual synergy between all relevant government agencies across the state.
He commended LASTMA officers for their steadfastness in traffic management and control across the state.
Meanwhile, Oreagba has confirmed that two LASTMA officers, Ayinla Folorunsho and Fuwa Oladipupo, have been honoured for their dedication to work in control and management of vehicular and human traffic.
