Barely seven weeks after the commencement of voting on the Consumers Value Awards 2023 portal, over 10,000 consumers have visited the site to cast their votes in 52 different categories of brands jostling for recognition as Best value-for-money brands.
As of the time of review of the website, the cement category had over 500 consumers votes among the four brands listed in that category, while the detergent category recorded 433 votes among eight brands listed, and the toilet cleaner category had 295 votes as two brands jostled for the award. Other categories, including sausages, biscuits and telecommunications, recorded over 300 votes.
Speaking on the voting pattern, the Chief Executive Officer, BrandXchange, Akonte Ekine, said there is growth in the number of visitors and voting, adding that more consumers are showing interest in the programme and casting votes.
He further urged more consumers to visit the site and cast votes in line with the desire of the organisers to have more robust participation through voting, saying that the objective is to have a higher sample population than the first edition.
In line with the theme of the second edition, Consumer Satisfaction Index, he said, “Regulators from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and Nigeria Communications Commission will be participating. The voting is ongoing till July 31, 2023 when the portal will be shut down.
“The voting, according to findings on the site, shows that 89 per cent of the votes are within the country while the United States and the United Kingdom contributed about 7 per cent of the total votes. The event will be held on September 7, 2023,” Ekine said.
