However, to fully unleash this scientific potential, Nigeria requires a robust national research plan. Without a clearly defined and adequately funded strategy, scientific progress within the country risks stagnation, impeding the realisation of transformative breakthroughs and hindering opportunities for innovation and growth. Therefore, it becomes paramount for Nigeria to prioritise establishing an all-encompassing national research plan, a roadmap that will be the key to unlocking the country’s immense scientific capabilities.

By crafting and implementing such a plan, Nigeria can harness its scientific potential to redefine the knowledge landscape and propel itself to the forefront of global scientific advancements. Such a comprehensive strategy will provide direction and purpose for scientific endeavours and ensure that researchers and scholars are empowered with the necessary resources and support to flourish.
