Four in police net for stabbing man in Abuja

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, attached to the Utako Divisional Headquarters, yesterday, arrested four suspects in connection with the stabbing and causing grievous harm on one Labaran Usman in the Jabi area of Abuja.

The suspects: 24-year-old Mubarak Ibrahim; 18-year-old Mohammed Adamu; and 19-year-old Aliyu Ibrahim, were arrested by the police team while responding to a distress call that someone was stabbed by a group of young men suspected to be cultists around Jabi car park.

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the team, while intensifying investigations, arrested 48-old-Ibrahim Tsoho who is also an accomplice. A search was conducted on his residence at Angwa Fulani Bwari, FCT, where one locally fabricated rifle, loaded with six rounds of ammunition, one military camouflage trouser, and two daggers were recovered from the suspects used in perpetrating the dastardly act.

Adeh said effort is on to unravel the source of the recovered firearm and also to clamp down on other members of the criminal syndicate still at large.

The Guardian gathered that the 32-year-old Usman, who was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention was responding to treatment.

The Commissioner of Police FCT Command, Haruna Garba, while commending the men, tasked them to increase the tempo and aggressively flush out miscreants from the Territory. He also enjoined residents of the FCT to maintain vigilance and report suspicious activities to the police.
