Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, has advised the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 corps members to take advantage of the service year to maximise their potential and design a better future.

In his address to the corps members at NYSC Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Council, Bauchi State, Ahmed urged them to remain focused and diligent as they prepare themselves to be role models to Nigerian youths.

The DG also advised corps members at Plateau State Temporary Orientation Camp in Waye Foundation, by Buken Academy, Doi-Du in Jos South Local Council same way.

He advised corps members in both camps to serve their fatherland with pride as good ambassadors of their families, institutions and NYSC, while avoiding misconduct in their dealings.

“Be law-abiding within and outside the camp. NYSC would not condone indiscipline. If you violate any of our rules, you would be penalised in line with the NYSC Act and By-laws.

“Accept your posting in good faith and prepare your mind to contribute to the development of your host communities and places of primary assignment. Always respect the culture and tradition of your host communities and adhere strictly to the NYSC dress code,” he said.

Giving the camp situation report to the DG, NYSC Coordinator in Bauchi, Mrs. Rifkatu Daniel Yakubu, said since inception of the orientation course, there had been a strong synergy among the camp officials, and the corps members had been law-abiding.
