Coming INAC will debunk negative image against Nigeria, says Runsewe

The Director General, National Council for Art and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, has revealed that the International Arts and Crafts Expo (INAC) scheduled to hold between September 7 and 9 in Abuja, will debunk every negative perception people have about Nigeria.

Runsewe, who is also the President, World Craft Council (WCC), at the sixth Pre-INAC Dinner organized for diplomats assured that the coming events will focus more on rekindling the spirit of patriotism as well as mobilizing the people towards building a greater Nigeria for all.

The Pre-INAC dinner which saw in attendance, representatives from more than 38 countries, was used as an avenue to brief the diplomats on this year coming INAC expo with a theme, Putting Nigeria First.”

Speaking further, Runsewe stated that in line with his promise during the dinner, a Diplomatic Arena has been created for all the countries to showcase their unique cultural products in the new office.

He said: “This year INAC will focus more on rekindling the spirit of patriotism and how to mobilize our people towards building a greater Nigeria for all.

“I wish to specifically thank the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mexico and Bulgaria, for their courtesy calls on us within the first two weeks of our relocation to our new office in Gudu District of Abuja.

“Let me state that I cannot take for granted, the very strong and healthy relationship between members of the diplomatic community and the National Council for Arts and Culture, I will continue to guard it jealousy and build on it with passion and commitment.

He further said that his office will use the coming INAC to debunk all the negative impression people are portraying about Nigeria while thanking the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for opening Nigeria up for investors.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Diplomatic Community, Salaheddine Abbas Ibrahima, said that culture remains one of the sure doors to positively penetrate any country.

He also thanked the D.G for his consistently in hosting the diplomatic community, stressing that the Thursday outing was the sixth time he was hosting them since his assumption of office of the D.G, NCAC in 2017.
