Two films – ‘Suga’ and ‘Bruna’ will open the 2023 edition of Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG) scheduled to take place in Frankfurt as from 28 to 29 July, 2023. ‘Bruna’ a feature by Ghanaian born director, Frank Fifi Gharbin and ‘Suga,’ a 2021 Nigerian romantic comedy film written by Priscilla Okpara and directed by Richard Omos Iboyi, will screen at the opening ceremony that will be chaired by the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Wahab Akande.
According to a release signed on behalf of the festival organisers – Ehizoya Golden Entertainment, the film screening will dovetail into another major highlight of the festival, which is Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA).
President and Founder of Ehizoya Golden Entertainment, Isaac Izoya, said the NEGA will feature a grand gala nite and live music concert featuring top star artists and performers and other international celebrities, including Ali Nuhu and Empress Njamah.
In the words of Izoya, who is popular as Cultural Ambassador, “we are poised to make the event an unforgettable night of celebration of Nigerian and Africa movies, music and culture.
At Ehizoya, our motto is “the show must go on and there is no stopping us.” The NFFG and NEGA is packaged by the Germany-based Ehizoya Golden Entertainment e.V.
The outfit is committed to promoting Global Integration and African Cultural Heritage across Europe and beyond via Nollywood films and road shows.
While the NFFG has become a viable platform designed for Nollywood (Nigerian/African) filmmakers to showcase their movies to Europeans and Nollywood fans in the Diaspora, the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards – NEGA Awards, is a reward system that recognises personalities and institutions that have contributed in promoting global integration and African cultural heritage across Europe and beyond.
