Wife of President Bola Tinubu, Oluremi, yesterday called for Germany’s collaboration to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians. Tinubu, who gave the charge while welcoming the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Annette Guenther and other officials of the Embassy to her office at the State House, Abuja, expressed appreciation to the Federal Republic of Germany for its various interventions in Nigeria, especially in areas of humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable in various places of conflict.

In a statement signed by her Senior Adviser on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said the mutual and beneficial relationship enjoyed so far by the two countries is commendable.

In her remarks, Guenther highlighted some areas of intervention by her country in Nigeria to include humanitarian assistance, stabilising programmes in conflict areas, such as the North-East, security and renewable energy.

She said her country appreciates the position of the First Lady, especially as a role model to women. Guenther gave the assurance that Germany would key into the vision of the administration of President Tinubu in women development and by extension, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) of the First Lady.

The German Ambassador extended her country’s invitation to the President and the First Lady for the 50th anniversary of Germany’s membership of the United Nations.

IN another development, female deputy governors, yesterday, pledged their commitment towards the delivery of the RHI of Oluremi Tinubu aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of Nigerian women.

This was disclosed during a courtesy visit to Oluremi Tinubu at the State House, Abuja. In a statement signed by Kukoyi, the female deputy governors gave the pledge during the visit to the First Lady.

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who spoke on behalf of others, noted that Nigerians’ human capacity and the future of the country depend on the investment made in women, youths and children.

The deputy governors stated they look forward to sharing the First Lady’s vision and how it will impact and benefit Nigerians.

Tinubu, in her remarks, expressed gratitude for the support and unity shown to her by the deputy governors. She said their support in aligning with her initiative would improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

The First Lady, therefore, urged them to come together with unity of purpose and come up with ideas and initiatives that would ameliorate the hardship being faced by citizens.
