The Army has resolved to strengthen partnership with Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) for formidable communication infrastructure. This resolution was reached, yesterday, when the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, received the management team of NIGCOMSAT, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Tukur Lawal, at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
Appreciating the enduring collaboration between the Army and NIGCOMSAT, the COAS revealed that, over the years, the agency provided fast, reliable and secured communication to military formations, which, he noted, positively impacted operational efficiency of the Army.
Lagbaja pledged to sustain collaboration between the military and NIGCOMSAT, stressing that the relationship with the agency had been positively rewarding.
In his remarks, Lawal commended the Army for the feedback received on NIGCOMSAT services and the mutual collaboration between the two organisations.
Pointing out that NIGCOMSAT was established to provide seamless connectivity and satellite communication through technological innovation he said “it is imperative for the Nigerian Army to collaborate with NIGCOMSAT” to promote operational effectiveness and territorial defence of the nation.
He urged the Army to actively participate in the next satellite launch by the agency, in furtherance of national defence and security, through collaborative development of secure communication infrastructure.
Both parties maintained that there were areas of challenges they both agreed to ameliorate for enhanced productivity.
