A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu, and his wife, Maryanne Moghalu, were trapped in a faulty elevator on Monday.

Maryanne Moghalu on Tuesday revealed this in a tweet with the videos of the incident that happened abroad.

She disclosed that she and her husband who is a former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC) were trapped in the elevator for 30 minutes before they were rescued.

“@MoghaluKingsley and I were stuck in an elevator for over 30 minutes! The elevator stopped in between floors. I thank God it ended well,” she tweeted.

“This is why you don’t leave home without praying. Ps 91. Never know what is waiting around the corner. Glory to God!”

Meanwhile, a female doctor, Vwaere Diaso, was not lucky as an elevator carrying her crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor of Lagos Island General Hospital where she worked as a medical house officer.

Dr. Diaso died from injuries sustained after she was trapped for more than 40 minutes in the crashed elevator.

She died on August 1, 2023, a few weeks prior to the completion of her horsemanship.
