Experts task entrepreneurs on personal branding
Experts have raised the need for entrepreneurs and business owners to have strong personal brand, as it impacts national perception.
This was the submission in Lagos at a media briefing to herald The Iconic Brand Awards (TIBA) and conference. The event has as theme, ‘Harnessing personal and corporate branding for nation building.’
Founder and Director of Studies, Strictly Law Business (SLB), Olubusola Ajala, stated that the issue of personal branding stirs from the place of personal identity, knowing ourselves.
“If we do not, as individuals, have a sense of identity of who we are, knowing who we are, knowing our abilities or innate potentials and all we can achieve as an individual then you can’t brand or position yourself and if one is not positioned or well branded, then how can you brand Nigeria?” she questioned.
Explaining further about personal branding, founding partner of Plumule Advisory, Gabriel Ologunwa, stated that whatever happens at individual level is what goes down to the national level and without the personal branding, there is no way to address national issues because what happens at National levels is a reflection of what is going at the grassroots level.
Partner and Head of Corporate Commercial Services at Debo Akande LLP, Rosemond Phil-Othihiwa, noted that Nigerians have a very huge role to play on how they are able to present themselves.
Speaking on the forthcoming TIBA conference, its convener, Omobabirin Adeola Osideko, said the purpose of holding the awards is to elevate the practice of personal branding by creating individuals, with the insights, tools and strategies vital to construct and enhance their brands.
”In today’s fiercely competitive economy, personal branding has become a vital asset for entrepreneurs, executives, influencers, and aspiring professionals.
“The TIBA conference serves as a platform to unlock untapped potential and distinguish individuals, in their respective industries.
”Through a wide range of presentations, conferences, workshops, panel discussions, network sessions, and the highlight event of a dinner and award night, attendees will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills to propel their personal and professional success.
”The conference will bring together a diverse and distinguished group of entrepreneurs, thought leaders, industry experts, and accomplished individuals who will share their insights, experiences, and expertise,” Osideko said.
