The police in Borno State have arrested Musa Dauda, a repentant Boko Haram terrorist, for allegedly killing his wife, Hafsat, in Maiduguri.

According to the police, Dauda clubbed his 45-year-old wife to death, and buried her on the farm, near Mohammed Goni stadium.

Confirming the development, yesterday, spokesperson for the command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Sani Kamilu, said Dauda invited his wife to meet him on her farm on September 12, and the victim disappeared afterwards.

On how the body of the deceased was discovered, Kamilu said: “The alleged murder was not reported to the police until a few days after relatives discovered the decomposing body of the victim on the farm.

“Consequently, the police swung into action by visiting the scene and exhuming her corpse and took it to Umaru Shehu hospital, Maiduguri, for autopsy.”

Kamilu, who disclosed that the suspect had already confessed to the crime, said Dauda told the police that he saw his wife with another man on the farm.

“He subsequently hit his wife on the head, using a hoe, killing her in the process, and buried her on the farmland,” Kamilu stated.
