As part of Federal Government’s palliative measures to cushion the effect of petroleum subsidy removal, Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has concluded plans to introduce Mass Transit express passenger train.
The train service, code-named Apapa express, will commence operation between Apapa and Kajola on the Standard Gauge Railway Line soon. This was disclosed by the Director, Operations of the Corporation, Mr. Akin Osinowo, on behalf of the Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria.
According to him, the stopping station for the Apapa express train include Mobolaji Johnson, Agege, Agbado and finally Kajola. In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Relations, NRC, Yakub Mahmood, he said this train service will surely reduce the hardship experienced by commuters, especially those plying Apapa-Kajola route. Osinowo, therefore, appealed to passengers to ensure that they obtain tickets at the designated stations before boarding the train.
