‘No U-Turn’ has rapidly ascended the ranks of cinematic excellence since its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, commonly referred to as Berlinale. There, it secured a nomination for the best documentary award, setting the stage for a series of accolades to follow. The film clinched the Jury Special Mention Awards in the best documentary category at Berlinale, a testament to its compelling narrative and masterful execution. Its brilliance was further recognised at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMMA), where it was crowned the best documentary film in Africa.
The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) also honoured ‘No U-Turn’ with the best documentary award. The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) lauded the film’s unique perspective and awarded it the Artistic Bravery Award. Additionally, the film was celebrated for its portrayal of West African unity, winning the Best Film on West African Integration at FESPACO, an award endowed by ECOWAS (CEDEAO).
Since its debut at the Berlinale in February, ‘No U-Turn’ has graced the screens of over 20 top-tier film festivals across Europe, the United States, and Africa.
