Muma Gee returns with African Talent Pool, hints on new single, Tory Plenty

After a brief hiatus from the entertainment scene, popular singer, and graduate of theatre arts, High Chief Iyumame Gift Eke, known roundly as Muma Gee, has returned to the scene with an initiative to impact on the lives of Nigerian and African indigenes with Rivers State as the kick-off point.

The initiative dubbed African Talent Pool (ATP), a human capital development project/programme aimed at eradicating poverty, insecurity, vices, terrorism, and cultism, is being promoted under by her non-governmental organisation (NGO), Mumagee Foundation for Youth, Women and the Girl Child Empowerment (MFYWGCE) in conjunction with Mgee Empire Global Limited.

Speaking at a recent chat with journalists in Lagos, the entertainer and leading ambassador of Rivers State hinted that youths across communities in the state will be groomed and their talents harnessed under the initiative, adding that talent hunt is gear towards harvesting and grooming teeming youths in Africa for the attainment of self-reliance and sustainable development.

According to her, a team of experts including entertainment impresario and talent/artiste manager, Don Tee, will work closely with the youths., while reiterating that the project is focused on youths and individuals between the ages of 13 and 50.

The singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman, fashion designer, television personality and politician also said that the identified talents would be groomed in various artistic talents and craftsmanship.

“The Mumagee Foundation for Youth, Women and the Girl Child Empowerment is passionately driven by the gravity and density of challenges faced by the less privileged in society. And so, the foundation, in a bid to improve their lives through social intervention and advocacy, uses programmes and projects such as African Talent Pools in collaboration with government and other partners to explore ways to engender policies friendly to them,” Muma Gee said.

The African Juice and Kade crooner commended the River State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, for emphasising his administration’s focus on human capacity development and applauding him for the proactive steps taken following the murder of a police chief in the state, SP Bako.

While expressing appreciation to prospective partners, she solicited for partnership from the state and local governments, the media, spirited individuals and stakeholders, especially in Rivers State, and within and outside the country to achieve the goal of the ATP.

Muma Gee also hinted on her forthcoming single titled, Plenty Tory. She stated that a lot had happened to her during a brief break from the entertainment scene. “A whole lot has been happening to me. Motherhood as I have been married; academically as well, as I’m currently a law student in the Faculty of Law, University of Port Harcourt.

“I’m a politician as well. And so many so many so many things had happened to me experience wise and I’ve been working as well. You’re going to experience that in my new work, titled, Tory Plenty, which will explain to you the merging of experience and transformation that the brand Muma Gee has made.”

Also speaking at the parley, media director of the project, Wariso Wariso, stated that the initiative would tour the local government and states in Nigeria before extending its tentacles to other parts of Africa.
