The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Ilupeju, Lagos, has officially installed Jimmy Odukoya, son of the late senior pastor, Taiwo Odukoya, who passed in the United States of America on August 7, 2023 at the age of 67, as the senior pastor of the church.
The church also installed Jimmy’s sister, Tolu as the assistant pastor. The ceremony was in fulfillment of the decision of the church’s Board of Trustees. By this declaration Jimmy and Tolu have moved to the senior cadre of the church.
Speaking at the official installation service, which held recently at the church premises in Ilupeju, Lagos, the National President of the Pentecostal of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, said God uses individuals to express His glory, stressing that the pastors should be received after the Spirit and not the flesh.
Applauding the church for given the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, a befitting burial, Oke urged members to keep following after Christ. He said: “The late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya was a humble, meek, gracious and great man. Though the founder has left the earth, the owner of the church is Jesus Christ and He lives forever.”
The PFN President, who noted that the period was a trying and challenging time for the church, urged members to serve the Lord and remain steadfast in their commitment to God who has called them.
“Listen to what the Spirit is now saying to the church, honour and respect who God has honoured,” PFN President said. The Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Dr. Mike Okonkwo, stated that whatever the Lord does is permanent and called on the senior pastors to be true to their individuality. He prayed for the newly appointed pastors and dedicated them to God who has chosen them.
Expressing his appreciation to the spiritual fathers, board of trustees, and the congregation, the newly installed Senior Pastor Odukoya promised to lead the church, as God enables him.
