AY took to his Instagram account to express his regret, posting a picture of Davido and two videos of himself performing at various shows. In his heartfelt apology, he acknowledged that the joke had come off poorly in the viral video and admitted that it wasn’t as funny as intended.

“I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it,” AY wrote in his caption.

He accepted the criticism for his joke and emphasized that it was a learning experience for him in the entertainment industry. He didn’t make any excuses for his poor delivery and expressed his continued support for Davido.

“Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri. So, no excuses at all, my aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido,” he concluded.

Davido responded to AY’s apology post with a reassuring message, saying, “Nothing spoil Baba mi” indicating that their relationship remained intact.
