The Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has said that Israel is presently not at war with her neighbour, Palestine.

Speaking Tuesday in Abuja, he stated that the country has rather declared a total war on the militant group – Hamas, and would do everything to wipe the group out.

Insisting that Israel was ready to do everything possible to make sure that the group goes into extinction, Ambassador Freeman however lamented that Saturday’s attack on Israel was the worst after the Holocaust.

He therefore called for the support of the international community to assist Israeli government in wiping out Hamas from the face of the earth.

The envoy noted that Israel was only doing what any other nation would have done if its territory was invaded and its citizen slaughtered.

According to him, while he will not describe Hamas, he expected personal description of the group based on their antecedent. “I am not going to give a description of Hamas, but would want everyone to describe what the group is with what he has been doing so far.”

Alleging that Hamas was not only after Jews and Israelis but every other group, including Muslims and Christians, the Ambassador stated that he expected the rest of the world to support Israeli’s move to wipe off the threat.

He added that there was no other option than to make sure that the group does not continue to exist, noting that Israel was ready to roll out everything that was needed to put an end to Hamas, its madness and barbarism.

The envoy also admitted that civilian casualties should be expected in the war against Hamas as there was no war without civil casualties. He however assured that Israel will not target civilians but Hamas even though Hamas has threatened to put Israeli children and women in the warfront in the battle against Israel.

He informed the Palestinian government that Israel was not at war with the government and the people of its country but was fully out to end the terror reign of Hamas.
