Chibuzo Emmanuel Obimma, affectionately known as Ebube Muonso, is a prominent Catholic leader whose life and ministry have left an indelible mark on the spiritual landscape of Anambra State. Born on August 18, 1980, in Uruebo village, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, he has risen from humble beginnings to become the founder and head of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, a spiritual sanctuary that draws thousands of worshippers and serves as a beacon of hope and faith for many.
Ebube Muonso’s journey towards priesthood was not without its challenges. He hails from a family of seven sons, born to Bartholomew Obiechina Obimma, a tailor, and Grace Obimma (Ochiora), a clothing seller. His early education was completed at Ezunaka Primary School, and he pursued his junior high education at St. Paul’s Seminary in Ukpor. He later completed his secondary education at All Hallows Seminary in Onitsha.
Ordained as a Catholic priest in August 2011, his path to priesthood was marked by determination and perseverance, as three of his brothers had previously embarked on the same journey but did not complete their studies. Ebube Muonso himself faced a one-year suspension on probation during his seminary years. It was during his seminary days that he acquired the nickname “Ebube Muonso,” which translates to the “Glory of the Holy Ghost.”
After his ordination, he initially served as a relief priest at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Uke. However, he went on to establish the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry in Uke, which has since become the largest ministry in the Onitsha diocese. The ministry has been instrumental in providing charitable services and employment opportunities, employing nearly 20,000 people in schools and factories.
Chibuzo Emmanuel Obimma’s life and ministry continue to be a source of inspiration to many in Anambra State and beyond. His unwavering faith, dedication to his calling, and commitment to serving others have solidified his place as a respected Catholic leader. As he carries the torch of faith forward, his impact on the spiritual landscape of Nigeria remains profound, reminding us all that true greatness is born out of humble beginnings and unwavering faith in the divine.
