A combined security team has rescued all the 18 people abducted at Kanya, Danko Wasagu Local Council of Kebbi State two days ago.This was made known in a statement signed by Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Kebbi State Governor.
Idris, in his statement, said Danko Wasagu Local Council Chairman, Alhaji Hussani Aliyu-Bena, who confirmed the rescue, attributed the success recorded by the military and other security personnel to the support they enjoyed from the state Governor Nasir Idris.
He added that the affected persons were rescued at Karen Bena, as the bandits attempted to cross into Zamfara State at about 5:30p.m. He lauded the present administration for prompt release of fund to security agency, which culminated into the successes being recorded, adding that the aid from government would boost the morale of security personnel towards protecting the lives and property of people across the state.
“In fact, many villagers have started returning back to their homes to continue with farming activities. The Army, including the Nigeria Air Force have been neutralising the bandits,” he said.
