FUOYE VC pledges excellence, stimulating policies, activities

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has promised to keep initiating policies and programmes capable of advancing academic excellence in the institution, as well as sustain the university’s respected status.

Fasina stated this while unveiling a new policy aimed at promoting academic excellence and instilling leadership qualities in students.

In a statement, he said that the university instituted an essay competition for all levels of students with the overall winner expected to receive N100,000 reward, a laptop and the privilege to mount the seat as the institution’s vice chancellor for a day.

He added that the second-best student would be awarded N70,000, a laptop as well as an opportunity to act as deputy vice-chancellor, administration for a day, while the third best student would also receive a laptop, N50,000 along with the honour of giving directive as deputy vice chancellor, academics for a day.

Fasina, who announced that the topic for the maiden edition of the essay competition as “Re-emergence of Coup detat: Causes, Effects And Future Of Politics In Africa.”
