Eze said, “There is need for government to assist Non-governmental organization, foundations, among others to organize such program that will sensitize girl children to enable more women and girls to go into technology so as to have more women in the financial technology industry.”
“The percentage of women in technology is low, hence the SHE-tech project is to create more awareness so that both male and females can venture into the Industry,” he stated.
The Assistant project Coordinator for Kiek Foundation Ms Sophia Panama explained that the Project SHE-Tech Strengthening her empowerment through technology was organized given the fact that the technology industry is the fastest growing in the world and it’s fundamental for the growth and development of any nation.
In line with the theme of the celebration we want to empower the knowledge of the students to be aware of various opportunities available in the tech space and to also break the gender biases that the tech field is a male dominated industry.

“We want to tell these students that technology is not only for boys but also for girls such when they show interest we will stimulate their interest in the STEM subjects so that they can venture into the field, there are amazing opportunities for women, so we just want to encourage them to pick interest in the field.
The Head girl of Junior Secondary School Jabi Rita Jenifa expressed his happiness that a day is being set aside to celebrate the girl child saying every child has right to education and if government can support parents to bring the wards to school it will go a long way.
Most girls don’t know their rights due to lack of education, that is why they are being harassed one way or the other, so it is important for all girls to go to school to increase their awareness of their rights.
The Founder of Jewels Hives Initiative Toyin Falaye called on government to provide shelter for women and girls who are victims of sexual or domestic violence, saying there are no enough shelters for the victims to hibernate for a period of time before reintegrating them into the society.
She called on government to collaborate with the initiative to provide safe spaces for their shelter as they get more knowledge before they are empowered.
