Gombe to bag NITDA’s ‘Most Digitally Compliant State’ award

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has nominated Gombe state for the prestigious ‘Most Digitally Compliant State’ award.

The Director-General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who conveyed the nomination to Governor Inuwa Yahaya, in a letter, highlighted that the award was a direct result of the Governor’s impressive strides in the field of Information Technology.

According to a statement by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Ismaila Misilli said that the award was earned through a series of remarkable initiatives of Inuwa led administration through exceptional policies which encompass a wide array of accomplishments, including significantly reducing the Right of Way fee.

He said the idea is promoting digital infrastructure development, providing essential ICT gadgets to various ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to enhance their efficiency and productivity, and implementing an advanced system for automated revenue collection within the state, streamlining financial processes.

He added that others areas that the state was nominated are digitizing the Gombe Geographic Information System (GOGIS) to facilitate effective and efficient land management across the state, revolutionizing the payment of salaries through automated systems, ensuring swift and precise disbursements and introducing Biometric Machines at both the state and local government levels to combat truancy among civil servants, fostering a more diligent work culture.

He said Gombe State would be presented the award during the Digital Nigeria Conference 2023 Dinner scheduled to hold tomorrow, October 26, 2023, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
