
The Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON), yesterday, in Kano, tasked the new Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Jalal Ahmad Arabi, on professionalism.
In a statement by its National President, Yahaya Sulaiman Nasidi, which was made available to journalists in Kano, the association applauded the appointment of Arabi as the best thing to happen to the industry.
Nasidi, who described Arabi’s appointment as a significant milestone in the regulation and administration of Hajj and Umrah operations in Nigeria, said: “We believe that his leadership will further strengthen the commission’s commitment to ensuring smooth and successful pilgrimage of Nigerian Muslims to the Holy land.
“AHUON is confident that under Arabi’s guidance, NAHCON will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and openness built on the successes achieved by the previous management team.
“We look forward to working closely with the new chairman in promoting the welfare and interests of our members, as well as the Nigerian pilgrims who embark on the sacred journey of Hajj and Umrah.”
The tour operators further stated: “NAHCON achieved a lot of milestones and advancements like proactive engagement with critical stakeholders like AHUON in decision-making processes for successful facilitation of smooth Hajj and Umrah operations, an action we look forward to for the new management to build upon.
“As an association representing the interest of Hajj and Umrah tours operators in Nigeria, AHUON remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the regulatory efforts of NAHCON.”
Nasisi further assured the readiness of tour operators to collaborate with the commission to enhance the overall experience of Nigerian pilgrims, including the provision of high-quality services, improved facilities, and streamlined processes.
Also, he said AHUON would extend its full support to the new Chairman and stand ready to work together towards the shared goal of facilitating a successful and spiritually-rewarding pilgrimage for all Nigerian Muslims.”
