
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said that he will ensure delivery on the mandate of his ministry in order to to fail Nigerianscand his principal, President Bola Tinubu.
The minister made this known while hosting the Chief Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Ambimbola Ayo-Yussuf and his state commissioners in his office in Abuja
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director Press, in the ministry, Fatai Afonja, the minister who decried the living standards of citizens at border communities, said he will work towards securingbtye borders and making life bearable to the communities.
He said “I don’t want to be remembered as the minister that solve passport problem, but as a minister that helped the President to secure boarders in Nigeria, that is legacy.”
Dr. Tunji-Ojo, stated that he does not want to disappoints Nigerians and also the President who appointed him as the Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria hence, “I am committed not to fail Nigerians, It takes lots of confidence, courage and determinations”.
To the Chief Commissioner, the minister said , “I like criticism, but not destructive criticism, when you criticize in the aim of making the system better, the other person will not just be a winner, but winner for Nigeria as a country.”
Chief Commissioner Ayo-Yussuf earlier said the is to collaborate with the ministry in eliminating passport queues in Nigeria.
He further stated that “It is in this capacity that the Commission wishes to partner and collaborate with you in your efforts and commitment to steer the Ministry to greatness, under your watch.
It is hoped that the relationship between your organization and the commission will be fruitful for the benefits of all Nigerians”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tunji-Ojo has described the reaffirmation of the victory of President Bola Tinubu by the Supreme court as “proofs that renewed hope is here.”
In a congratulatory message made public by his Special Assistant, Media, Also Babatunde, the minister said “Your walk to this significant stage of life has been marked by a steadfast dedication to public service and a deep-rooted vision for the prosperity of our beloved country.
“Nigerians, and of course the world, await the turn-around of the nation’s fortune, and the early signs are here with us as proofs that renewed hope is here.”
