Scholars unveil platform for transportation research

Academicians have launched a platform to unite academic researchers with a diverse assembly of scholars, practitioners, and policymakers within the transportation field.

The platform, titled: ‘Transformative Transport Service Design Initiatives’ (TRATSEDI) is poised to foster a collaborative environment where researchers from various backgrounds can join forces to address real-world transportation challenges.

The academicians firmly believe that it not only amplifies the depth and breadth of research findings but also leads to innovative solutions that can transform the transportation landscape.

The launch was done via a webinar that featured a variety of academic researchers, practitioners, and students with a keen interest in transport services.

Senior Lecturer at the School of Transport and Logistics, Lagos State University, Ojo, Dr. Ogochukwu Ugboma, provided the academic perspective on the need for transformative transport service.

Associate Professor at Keele University, United Kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Mogaji, introduced the Transformative Agenda for TRATSEDI, emphasising the introduction of Transformative Transport Services (TTS) as a cornerstone, with pillars of sustainability, inclusivity, and technology.

This initiative, according to him, calls for collaborative efforts to create more sustainable, inclusive, and technologically advanced transport services.

Community Lead, TRATSEDI, Hayatullah Busari, offered insight into the platform’s mission, highlighting the benefits for academic researchers and practitioners, noting that “TRATSEDI aims to stand as a beacon of excellence in research, thought leadership, and practical solutions, shaping the future of transport services for a more inclusive and accessible world.”

Evaluation and Policy Analyst at Edge Hill University, United Kingdom, Dr. Chinebuli Uzondu, shared insights into the action plans and forthcoming activities of the group, specifically highlighting the forthcoming dissertation award, designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of postgraduate students in Nigeria to the field of transport services and management.

Transport Professional, Mrs. Olayemi Dickson, emphasised the excitement in embarking on a journey to revolutionise the transportation sector, unveiling a groundbreaking initiative that promises to redefine the landscape of transport design, bringing together leading experts, visionary thinkers, and pioneers dedicated to transforming the transport sector.

However, the launch webinar serves as an invitation for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to join TRATSEDI and embark on a journey of collaborative research in the field of transportation.
