Jonathan appeal to national Assembly to block off season election, in Nigeria
Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan have appealed to the National Assembly to ensure they do all it takes to block off season election in Nigeria, as is not a best practice.
He stated this on Saturday, in his home town Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa, saying it’s not a global best practice.
According to the former President, congratulated the three states of Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi, for the success of the conduct of the election.
“Basically this is an off season election, I get worried about off season election and will use this opportunity to plead with the national Assembly to block it.
“This is not the best practice the country can elect their people at the same time like the America that elect everybody at the same time.
“If we continue with this based on our laws by the judicial officers there will be a time the Nigerian presidential election will be off season.
“Nigeria should be worried, when I say Nigeria presidential election maybe off season, they may say how? and why it almost happen in 2007 when I was the running mate to late Yaradua, that election seven Justices that presided over the case three of them say the process be anoiled while four of them sustained it.
“If one have crossed over by now the Nigerian election would have been off season.
