
Speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt yesterday when he received the interim report of the anniversary committee, the governor noted that the event would further project the state positively.
He, therefore, called on the committee to swing into action immediately so that the state would have a worthwhile celebration.Earlier, Chairman of the jubilee committee, Mr. Ferdinand Alabrabra, said that the unveiling of the anniversary logo and a world press conference would herald the celebration.
He added that cultural events and performances would showcase the state to the world, while a book on Rivers State at 50 and recognition awards for those who contributed to the growth of the state would also feature.
