The 56-year-old comedian, known for hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live, previously hosted the Oscars in 2017, 2018, and most recently in 2022.
Expressing his excitement, Kimmel said, “I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times.” His return to the Oscars follows this year’s ceremony, where he humorously addressed the “Slapgate” incident involving Will Smith and Chris Rock.
In a nod to the Top Gun: Maverick film, Kimmel parachuted into the ceremony. Throughout the night, he sprinkled jokes referencing Smith and entertained the audience with his signature humor.
The 96th Academy Awards will celebrate films from 2023, with early favorites for awards including Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon, according to bookmakers.
Save the date for the Oscars on March 10, 2024, where Kimmel will once again take the stage at the Dolby Theatre to celebrate the best in Hollywood.
