Mr Ibu: Is It Not Too Early In The Day?
Last week was a sad one for lovers of Nigerian film and comedy industry, as one of its greats, John Okafor, aka Mr. Ibu, had one of his legs amputated owing to an undisclosed ailment. The comic actor had recently solicited for aid online to help pay for his medical bills prior to the amputation and monies running into millions were donated to him.

But news of a rift between the actor’s wife and children on who should be in charge of the funds has found its way into public space with the second son, Daniel Okafor, ‘chesting’ out to say he was in charge, as against the allegation by Mr. Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris Okafor that the actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, had totally hijacked the funds and was doing anyhow ‘yaga yaga’ with the money.

“I do not have access to the main Access Bank account where people make donations. It is being secretly controlled by Jasmine, yet she is cooking up all kinds of lies and propaganda against me to keep absolute control of that account. How she manipulated her way and took control of that account is a story for another day,” Mrs. Ibu had lamented in a social media post.

In a response to a newspaper query, Daniel affirmed he was in charge. “I am Daniel Okafor; I am John Okafor’s second son. There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online. Jasmine does not have access to that account; I have access to it. I am the signatory to the account and my father’s next of kin.”

Daniel may have confirmed the rumour making the rounds that Mr. Ibu is a proud ‘owner’ of several wives. “She (Stella Maris) is my step mother. My mother is not around at the moment.”

What bothers T4T is this; Mr. Ibu is still alive and battling with the ailment that has already claimed one of his legs. Reports said that doctors are trying to stabilise him to enable the family fly him overseas for further treatment. That has not been done, and the step mother, step children have already started a mini version of Israel Vs Hamas war? Family and money matter sha!
May God protect Mr. Ibu. That is T4T’s prayer.

Baba Fryo, The ‘Enjoyment Minister’
DURING the week, T4T stumbled upon a Tiktok video of once upon a time Ajegunle music rave, Baba Fryo, where he narrated how he thoroughly enjoyed himself at a gathering in Lagos. Just read his narration of the event in his own words (unedited):

“Yesterday was a good day to remember as Chief Josephine Oboh-MacLeod the enjoyment minister lol host my humble self Mr Femi Lasode The CEO of Ivun Ezra Studio, Mr Olojo Kolawole, Mabel Akomu Oboh, John Oboh aka (Mighty Mouse) family and others at Eko Hotel and Suites. Omo e shoke ooh this one pass chop belle full drink until you tire, life too short for dull moment. And we also discussed the way forward for Ajegunle Entertainment Industry. Thanks so much for the hospitality. God bless you.”

Very nice one Baba Fryo, but you need to read a comment from a not too nice Nigerian on the video: “At your age, see as you dey advertise and celebrate ordinary food and drinks meeting for public. Na so you take use your full career take eat and drink.” That was a rather wicked and insensitive comment. T4T hereby dissociates himself from that wicked person. He is on his own on this, truly.

Is Charles Okocha Truly ‘Phenomenal’?
NOLLYWOOD actor and latter day skit maker, Charles Okocha, is one person who has reinvented himself and he did it so very early in the day. From some fringe roles to one or two major roles in movies, Okocha knew the future for him was skit making. He was able to create a unique brand of skits. While almost every other person is copying each other, Okocha came out with something tailored for just him (well, and very very few others).

From “We are asa”(asa for outside), to “you are phenomenal”, Charles Okocha has created a large fan base that has got many wondering. And his hype man, Jaytee Yna, who hardly shows in camera is one person that sells the Charles Okocha brand the more. T4T always laughs anytime the actor dots on his daughter in any of his skits. The shy smile of the secondary school girl kind of reveals what goes on in her mind: “This my dad is not okay.”
But skit aside, Charles Okocha loves his daughter. It shows even in his ‘madness’ on camera. So, T4T agrees that the actor is truly Phenomenal!
