TalkLove Africa Foundation celebrates success of digital skills training for Eliozu community women

On November 8, 2023, TalkLove Africa Foundation (TAF) marked a significant milestone with the closeout ceremony and project presentation for the inaugural batch of 100 women who completed a comprehensive three-month digital skills training program with funding from European Union. The ceremony, held in the Eliozu community, served as a momentous occasion to welcome these empowered women into the digital space, equipped with skills in Digital Marketing and Graphics Design.

The event commenced with an impactful opening speech delivered by the Executive Director of TalkLove Africa Foundation Mrs. Cynthia Obinwanne. She passionately encouraged the participants to confidently apply their acquired skills in the digital arena, emphasizing the importance of taking on advanced courses to further enhance their expertise. The ED also welcomed esteemed guests, including the Women Leader, Youth Leader of Eliozu community and his executives, along with other community chiefs keen on witnessing the positive impact of the training on the women.

A panel session followed, providing ample time for panelists to share inspiring stories and advice on the theme “Women in Tech.” Participants actively engaged by posing questions on areas that resonated with their aspirations and concerns.

The highlight of the event was the captivating project presentation, where each group showcased their independent work over the past three months. The women demonstrated proficiency in creating flyers, logos, video ads, content calendars, and even outlined the growth process of a prototype social media platform. They explained the software used and the meticulous steps taken to achieve the final project outcomes.

Promise Johnbull a Project officer from SDN, the partnering organization, seized the chance to address the beneficiaries regarding the Employment Extension Service (E2S).

In the Vote of Thanks, the Youth Leader expressed profound appreciation to TalkLove Africa Foundation and the European Union for their unwavering support in bringing the project to fruition. He commended the foundation for inspiring and empowering Eliozu women to actively participate in the digital revolution. The ED, in turn, thanked the leadership of the Eliozu community for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the smooth and peaceful execution of the training program.

In conclusion, the success of the three-month digital skills training for the first 100 women in Eliozu community is evident in the remarkable progress witnessed during the project presentations as an additional 300 women are set to undergo training in the upcoming months. TalkLove Africa Foundation remains committed to fostering empowerment and inclusion, leaving an indelible mark on the journey towards digital proficiency for women in Nigeria.
