
United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has attributed its accomplishments in 2023 to fruitful collaborations with the Nigerian government and various stakeholders.
Chief of the Field Office, Bauchi, Dr Clement Adams, who stated this, yesterday, emphasised the significance of prioritising cooperation with the government during the year-end review meeting held in Gombe State.
He highlighted UNICEF’s smooth project implementation, stating: “We experienced seamless execution of all activities because of our strong relationship with the government.”
He stressed the agency’s commitment to achieving good results for children across Bauchi Field Office and the entire nation. “We aim high to demonstrate to the government what works and the best approaches to achieving our goals.”
Stressing the collaborative nature of UNICEF’s efforts, he acknowledged the essential role of partnerships with government agencies and stakeholders.
“No single organisation possesses all the capacities to fulfil its mandate; working together with relevant stakeholders is crucial to achieving our goals and objectives,” he added.
Backing the Chief Field Officer, the Commissioner for Education, Aishatu Maigeri, echoed the importance of successful collaboration.
She affirmed that the joint efforts of UNICEF and government entities in the Bauchi Field Office significantly contributed to the organisation’s achievements, especially in areas such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL), nutrition and safe schools.
The two-day review meeting, held at Emerald Royal Hill Hotel in Gombe, brought together implementing partners from states under the UNICEF Bauchi Field Office, including Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau and Taraba.
The event served as a platform for reflection, collaboration and planning for future initiatives to further the well-being of children in the region.
