Sean “Diddy” Combs has stepped down from his position as Chairman of REVOLT, the music television network he founded in 2013. The decision comes amidst multiple sexual assault lawsuits filed against Combs in recent months.

In a statement released by REVOLT, the company said that “Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as Chairman of REVOLT.
While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”
The statement continued, “Our focus has always been one that reflects our commitment to the collective journey of REVOLT – one that is not driven by any individual, but by the shared efforts and values of our entire team on behalf of advancing, elevating and championing our culture – and that continues.”
Combs has denied all of the allegations against him. However, the lawsuits have cast a shadow over his reputation and have led to calls for his removal from REVOLT.
The Allegations Against Diddy
In November 2023, three women filed separate lawsuits against Combs, alleging that he sexually assaulted them. The women allege that Combs assaulted them in different incidents, dating back to the early 2000s.
The lawsuits have not been proven in court, and Combs has maintained his innocence. However, the allegations have been widely reported in the media and have damaged Combs’ reputation.
The Impact of the Lawsuits on REVOLT
REVOLT is a relatively new network, and it is still trying to establish itself in the competitive music television landscape. The sexual assault allegations against Combs have undoubtedly hurt the network’s image and have made it more difficult to attract viewers and advertisers.
By stepping down as Chairman, Combs is hoping to take some of the pressure off of REVOLT and allow the network to focus on its core business of providing a platform for diverse voices.
