The statement identified those killed to include Bala Wuta (a notorious kingpin), Dogo Na Sahura and Hassan Bukuru, adding that an operational motorcycle was recovered.
It called on residents to furnish police with vital information that would lead to the arrest of other gang members. The statement reads: “On November 25, 2023, about 1030hrs, while on a joint patrol with members of the vigilante, on reaching Kwarare area of Jibia, some suspected kidnappers opened fire on the joint patrol team, to which the officers valiantly returned fire, forcing the terrorists to abandon their evil plan and flee into the nearby bush.
“While combing the scene and surrounding bushes, the bodies of three neutralised suspected kidnappers, as well as one of their operational motorcycles, was recovered. The bodies were later identified as those of Bala Wuta, a suspected notorious bandits’ leader terrorising Jibia and environs; Dogo Na Sahura and Hassan Bukuru.
