Ado–Ekiti Unique Lions Club donates borehole to Esa-Odo community

The Ado–Ekiti Unique Lions Club has donated a modern borehole to the Esa-Odo community in the Obokun Local Council Development Area of Osun State.

Prior to this, the Lions Club International had donated four such boreholes to other parts of Ilare, the Headquarters of Obokun East Local Council Development Area and Otan-Ile, also in the local government.

In 2022, the Club donated farm equipment and seedlings to over 500 farmers in Ilare to improve their productivity.

The donation of boreholes and other projects was facilitated by Engr. Oyedeji Olajubu, the Asiwaju of Ilare said the motive was to alleviate the hardships of inhabitants of the communities in getting potable water that would improve their welfare.

“The importance of having portable and clean water in a community cannot be overemphasised. This will improve the health and general well-being of the residents of this communities,” Olajubu said.

He called on other well-meaning Nigerians, particularly indigenes of Osun State to contribute to causes that promote the well-being of the people.

The President of the Ado–Ekiti Unique Lions Club, Prince Sola Aregbesola, while presenting the Bore Hole in Esa-Odo stated that “one who offers water, offers life” and noted that the Lions Club is committed to service to humanity by provision of charitable things that could improve the lives of the people.

Representatives of the Esa-Odo community, Mr. Julius Fadare, Mrs Funke Fadare and Mrs Alaba Odubiyi expressed their appreciation to the Club and promised to make good use of the Bore Hole.

They said “the Bore Hole was donated to the community at the most appropriate time” and stated that “lack of potable water had been one of the major problems confronting the people of the community.”

The community thanked Asiwaju Oyedeji Olajubu kjw for his hospitality and love for the people of the community.
