Just as the mariachis serenade with sweet songs of love, so has the 360Kuts CEO blown the people of the beach city away with his unequal skills as a prolific hairstylist, which has made him as popular as the European currency at every nook and cranny of province of Pescara, in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
Jimmy Ofuoyan’s story of grass to grace has been one of utmost inspiration to many youths in Nigeria and across the world, stemming from his perseverance, determination, vision and focus to never allow his past determine his future. The entrepreneur grew in a large family where the basic things of life were a major daily struggle.
“I grew up in one of the sickest trenches of Africa where almost everyone is mentally unstable, depressed, full of anxiety, emotionally traumatised but without consciousness of it and even knowing these, you’d still get people around who tells you you can’t give in to it,” he shared in one tell-it-all post on Instagram.
Jimmy Ofuoyan only had access to primary education, after which he took up skill acquisition at his brother’s salon, where he became an expert in braiding and fixing of women’s hair. During the period of his training, the 360Kuts boss undertook personal training on men’s haircut on YouTube. That sole decision became the foundation of his rising global profile.
After his certification as a professional in hairstyling, he left the shores of Nigeria, enroute Italy via Libya, where in principles, he birthed 360Kuts in very difficult circumstances. Thinking that his childhood worries were over, and challenging phase of his life behind him, he fell into the hands of marauding human traffickers who took advantage of the war-torn situation of the North African country.
While in captivity for a year and six months, Ofuoyan became the barber of his captors and fellow inmates. He camped first at Sicily as a migrant after his escape to Italy, and later moved to Pescara; which he has conquered with his unusual talent. His fame rose suddenly after he won the ‘Blurriest/ Fastest Fade Technique Barber Battle’ against other Italian-born hairstylists and barbers in his community and barbershop.
In a video posted to his social media timeline, random people were asked who the best barber in Pescara was, an their answers were affirmative of Jimmy Ofuoyan as the king.
“Jimmy is the best barber in the world bro. If you don’t get your haircut done by Jimmy, you are capping; you are wearing a big cap on your head. My name is Plug,” one of the respondent said.
Jimmy Ofuoyan established 360Kuts as a full-fledge salon and promoted his unique skills through Khalilimage–a lifestyle digital content company, he had also founded. Celebrities such as footballer from the Italian Serie A, artistes and actors are his regular clients.
