Guinness Nigeria appoints Alli as new MD

The Board of Guinness Nigeria Plc has confirmed the appointment of Adebayo Alli as new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect from January 1, 2024.

The appointment follows the redeployment of John Musunga, the current Managing Director, to another role in Diageo Group as the first Managing Director for Southern, West and Central Africa (SWC).

A statement by the firm said Musunga would remain in his role as MD/CEO of Guinness Nigeria till the end of 2023 to ensure a smooth handover to Alli in furtherance of the orderly leadership change and succession planning strategy of the business.

The board commended Musunga for his impactful stint at the company.

According to the statement, during Musunga’s time, the business delivered a stellar performance under difficult conditions and reshaped its strategy while also achieving high employee engagement.
