Public analysts move against quackery

Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria (IPAN) has promised to check quackery.

The Registrar/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aliyu Angara, said the organisation was investigating alleged undercutting of tariffs by some registered laboratories.

He made the commitment at the institute’s 31st Mandatory Continuous Professional Development (MCPD) workshop in Ikeja, Lagos.

Angara threatened that errant professionals would be sanctioned, advising members to use the institute’s new stamp.

Meanwhile, Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Babatunde Irukera, has restated support for service delivery.

Represented by Legal Director, Tam Tamunokobia, the EVC appreciated the workshop’s theme: ‘Expert Testimonies of Public Analysts for Efficient Regulation of Consumer Products’, noting that its outcome would enhance consumer protection and regulatory efficiency.

IPAN’s past president, Prof. Olusegun Ogunmoyela, urged government’s support for public analysts to thrive and grow the industry.

Chairman of the occasion, Ganiyu Sanni, charged his colleagues with teamwork and stronger ties.
