Adebayo Adelabu set to rejoin APC in Oyo

We are yet to respond to his letter, says party

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is set to officially return to the Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, December 15, 2023 in a ceremony scheduled to hold at the party’s secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Adelabu, in a letter dated December 6, 2023, entitled: “Ceremony to announce my return to APC,” addressed to the state’s Chairman, Isaac Omodewu, said: “I hereby write to notify the state executives and leaders of APC in Oyo State of my intention to officially announce my return to our great party at a ceremony to be held at the party’s office in Oke-Ado on December 15, 2023. I want this ceremony to be anchored by the state executives with all local council party chairmen and leaders in attendance.”

Meanwhile, when contacted, media spokesman to the minister, Bolaji Tunji, confirmed the development and further disclosed that a meeting to finalise Adelabu’s return to Oyo APC would be held at Senator Ayo Adesun residence today.

Also, spokesman of Oyo APC, Olawale Sadare, confirmed that one of the aides to Adelabu brought a letter to the party on December 6, 2023. He said the party simply received it but is yet to officially respond to it.

When prompted further about the date, venue and time of the return ceremony, Sadare said: “I don’t know anything about that. The party is yet to respond to the letter. But anybody wanting to return to APC is welcome.”
