Renowned Nigerian social entrepreneur and author, Raquel Kasham Daniel, has unveiled her latest book: “The Sex Smart Teenager: Teaching Girls About Consent, Boundaries, and Body Safety.”

The book, strategically launched during the 2023 Global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, is a powerful tool aimed at educating and empowering young girls.

In collaboration with Bambini Africa, an organization dedicated to creating educational resources to address societal challenges, Raquel Kasham Daniel’s book was introduced to the public. Bambini Africa’s partnership with T.A.L.K Initiative, a non-profit organization providing education and support to victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), resulted in a meaningful outreach to girls in three public schools in Abuja.

During book reading sessions, Raquel engaged students, emphasizing the importance of focusing on education and avoiding activities that could jeopardize their futures, such as teen pregnancy.

Speaking to Miss Pauline Aimi Okoeguale, Executive Director of T.A.L.K Initiative, she expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Education is key to combating gender-based violence. By partnering with Bambini Africa and launching this book, we aim to empower young girls with knowledge that will help them navigate the challenges they may face.”

“The Sex Smart Teenager” provides accessible and vital information in a format that resonates with teenage girls, fostering a deeper understanding of consent, healthy boundaries, and body safety. The book launch and subsequent educational sessions mark a significant step toward building awareness and fostering a safer environment for young girls.
