The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, has solicited the cooperation of Remo indigenes in Sagamu Local Council of Ogun State towards tackling cult killings and other forms of criminality.

Speaking at a golf tournament, organised to celebrate his sixth year coronation and 61st birthday anniversary, the monarch said he hoped to sensitise members of the public on curbing criminal activities and ensuring peaceful co-existence among ethnic groups in Sagamu and Remoland.

He added: “The state government is bent on curbing criminality. We can no longer tolerate hoodlums in our community. Their activities have caused much havoc. Henceforth, anybody caught disturbing the peace will be made to face the wrath of the law.”

Also, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ogun State Command, SP Omolola Odutola, called on youths to desist from cultism, domestic violence, land grabbing, and cybercrime, even as he advised the public to support government and other security agencies in the fight against criminality.

The Aare of Remoland, Kola Oyefeso, said the golf competition was put together by Remo Golf Foundation at the Lafarge Cement Golf Club.

According to him, the event would encourage royal fathers and the people to engage in the sport as an exercise for healthy living.

“The golf tournament has been a wind of positive change in Remoland and a bridge for uniting people of different ethnic backgrounds,” he added.

Dignitaries at the event included: Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu; Ewusi of Makun, Oba Timothy Akinsanya; Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile; and Alagura of Agura, Oba Lukman Allison.
