The Onibeju of Ibejuland in the Ibeju-Lekki Local Council of Lagos State, Oba Waliu Rasaki, has filed an appeal to challenge a recent ruling by Justice K.O. Dawodu of a state High Court that ordered his removal as monarch on December 12.
Justice Dawodu, ruling on a suit marked LD/9297/GCMW/22, had nullified the selection process that produced Rasaki as monarch.

The judge ordered Oba Rasaki via a mandatory injunction to stop parading himself as Onibeju.
But dissatisfied, the embattled monarch approached the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal seeking to overturn Justice Dawodu’s ruling.
He averred that he and other respondents were not served the hearing notice and that despite the proof that they were not served the hearing notice, the lower court still proceeded to hear the matter, even when it became obvious that it lacked the jurisdiction to do so.
He, therefore, urged the court to set aside the ruling of the lower court, saying that the lower court granted the mandatory injunction against him without answering all processes filed in line with the principles of law.
