
Doma United continued their impressive second season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), yesterday, with a 1-0 defeat of Heartland of Owerri that took them to the top of the table – at least until Remo Stars meet Lobi today.
Nelson Abiam scored the winning goal in the 42nd minute to take the Bauchi-based side to 28 points, two more than second and third placed Remo Stars and Lobi Stars, who are on 26 points each.
One of these teams will overtake Doma United on the log with a win in their clash today in Ikenne.The Remo Stars versus Lobi game will be broadcast live on StarTimes’ Beta Channel from 4.00 p.m.
Enyimba had the opportunity to move within one point to Remo and Lobi, but they were held to a 1-1 draw by Enugu Rangers in Aba yesterday. Chijioke Mbaoma scored Enyimba’s goal in the 12th minute, only for Kazeem Ogunleye to equalize for Rangers in the 87th minute.
In other matches slated for today, Gombe United will host Katsina United, it’s Akwa United against Sunshine Stars in Uyo, while Bendel Insurance will clash with Abia Warriors in Benin.
Kwara United will host Plateau United, Sporting Lagos will be at home to Bayelsa United, while Niger Tornadoes and Kano Pillars will battle for points in Minna.
