Akins, Olomu, KSB, Wiliki face the music as WOMA ends today

As the third and final leg of the three-part Wale Olomu Memorial Awards and Roundtable (WOMA-R) comes on air today on TopRadio 90.9 FM, the Steering Committee, led by Tokunbo Ojekunle, will be unveiling the final set of WOMA awardees.
  
For today’s event, the third and final roundtable chat on “Business of Music: Artiste Vs Label Relations, Accountable Royalties and Other Matters” will wrap up the WOMA 2023. Discussants include legendary musician, and multiple award-winning music producer Mr. Olaoluwa Akintobi (Laolu Akins); veteran reggae artiste, and Chairman of Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN), Orits Wiliki; gospel music star, Kenny St Best (KSB), and Dayo Olomu, UK-based development strategist, former promotions and artiste manager.
   
In the last two weeks, nine people were awarded Special Recognition Awards and one Lifetime Achievement Award. On December 9, Zubby Enebeli, Amos McRoy, Mike Nliam and Kayode Samuel were awarded the WOMA Special Recognition Awards (SRA) in backup vocals, instrumentation, movie soundtracks and artiste management respectively.
   
DJ Vinny, Diran Olajoyegbe, Femi Ojetunde and Manny Eke also got the SRAs in disc jockeying, studio management, music  production, and backup vocals; while Waka Queen, Ibiwunmi Salawa Abeni  received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her unbroken sustenance of indigenous music on December 16.
