Concerned Edo Citizens Forum, has congratulated Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on his nomination as the 2023 Governor of the Year. The governor was nominated as Governor of the Year by This Day Newspaper on account of his efforts, over the past seven years, to reinvent Edo and place it on the path of accelerated and sustainable economic growth and development, dismantling age-long bottlenecks that have hindered growth.
   
According to the Newspaper, “Governor Godwin Obaseki is a warrior, no doubt. He successfully fought his re-election battle a few years ago, and he is about to face yet another big political and survival battle in a few months when the succession tussle starts.”
  
Congratulating the governor, the Convener of the forum, Roy Oribhabor, said the governor in the last seven years embarked on a daunting mission to rebuild the state, implementing policies and delivering projects to better the lives of millions of Edo people and ensure a progressive and prosperous state.
